Overall, I think SECRETS
VOLUME 23: SECRET
DESIRES is one of the
best collections I have
read from Red Sage yet.
From historical to the
fantastical, I was swept
away to different lands
and times. This is truly a
collection that sends your
senses into overdrive.
Visually stimulating, as
well as physically and
mentally stimulating, I
found myself on the edge
of my seat in anticipation
of what would happen
next. My two favorite
stories in this anthology
were FOREVER MY
LOVE and EDUCATING
EVA.

Aidan grinned, his left dimple mocking her attempts at stoicism. “Do you always argue with your
research partners?”
Eva let out a breath of frustration. “Oh, let’s just get started.” Eva flipped through her notebook.
“Now then, I first need to get a detailed sexual history if you—what are you doing?”
Aidan had shrugged out of his tight-fitting coat and removed his neckcloth. Eva’s eyes widened as
his long, slim fingers deftly worked the tiny buttons of his waistcoat.
“I’m undressing.”
Another button popped free. Eva was mesmerized by the simple gesture. And the increasingly
wide V of skin framed by the snowy white of his loose shirt. Eva swallowed and struggled to drag
her gaze back to his face.
“Why?” She was worldly. She was sophisticated. And she could handle the sight of a little male
flesh. Or even a lot.
“I thought that getting to know your subject intimately would be a good foundation for
future…research.” Aidan dropped the waistcoat in the pile of clothing between them.
“I don’t think that’s necessary.” Eva swallowed but continued to stare at his bared flesh, just a an
arm’s length away. “I haven’t seen many men in the flesh, so to speak, but I’ve studied anatomy
books…”
“Books show you nothing,” he said, grasping the back of his shirt and jerking it over his head.
“Books don’t teach sensation, or texture or scent.” He added his shirt to the growing pile of
discarded clothing on the floor between them. “They don’t teach the tingle of skin on skin contact.
Books can’t teach pleasure.”
Even though she’d seen his chest, and a lot more, the previous evening, there was something
very intimate about watching him undress for her. His eyes darkened, focused on her face,
gauging every reaction. The planes of his chest were fully exposed now and, the muscles of his
abdomen that formed a double row of hills stretched all the way to the top of his trousers.
Eva blinked before bringing her gaze back to his face. “I’m not here to learn about pleasure. That
wasn’t a condition of our arrangement.”
“Consider it a bonus.”
Eva didn’t reply. It was dangerous getting sucked into his aura of desire this way. And they’d
barely gotten started. But try as she might—and maybe she wasn’t trying as hard as she ought to
be—she was curious about what he was offering. The pleasure.
“Let me show you what I mean,” he cocked an eyebrow. “Unless you’re afraid?”
Having read most of the
Secrets anthologies, I had
high hopes for this one
and was not disappointed.
Exotic new worlds,
vampires, witches, erotic
fairy tales, Regency
romps—this book had it
all. Each of the stories was
well written, varied and
kept my interest
throughout. The female
characters were all
intelligent and strong-willed
and actively contributed to
the resolution of the plots.
The male characters were
quite different in
personalities yet sexy and
equally interesting. And
the sex scenes in each
story were well detailed
and very hot. My favorite
story was Educating Eva.
Aidan’s subtle seduction of
Eva was the best kind of
mental foreplay and was
extremely arousing. I also
really enjoyed the erotic
retelling of Beauty and the
Beast in Reflection of
Beauty. There’s something
about a tortured male who
finds happiness through
love that always works for
me. Pick up this volume of
Secrets—you won’t be
disappointed.
